I call upon SCAG to take the lead in improving our transportation system by supporting livable communities with compact mixed-use zoning convenient to transit, and safe routes for bicyclists and pedestrians.

SCAG should greatly increase the funding in the 2001 Regional Transportation Plan for land use solutions to our mounting transportation crisis, as well as higher funding levels for transit, bikes and pedestrians.

Please inform me as to how the Regional Transportation Plan will include this public comment in the final revision.

Thank you for your concern about our quality of life and transportation equity in L.A. County.
